In 2018, Viz Media and Gallery Nucleus brought the first ever official Naruto tribute show to the states, and I got to participate! I’d done a fair share of Naruto fan art back in my DeviantArt days, but this time I got to make an official drawing. (I’d like to think that the 13-year-old version of me would be proud).
For my piece, I wanted to depict Naruto in a more contemplative moment, enjoying a steaming bowl of tonkotsu ramen as the rain pours around him. It’s quiet but not necessarily sad - there’s a warmth radiating out from the restaurant.
